Carnaval 2023

Who needs beaches? It’s time for Carnaval!
The Carnaval has been around since the 18th Century! It was originally introduced by Portuguese settlers over 500 years ago and reintroduced after Portuguese Rule ended. While carnivals originally began as a pagan festival celebrated by the Romans, the Goan Carnaval was introduced by the Catholic community of the region. Today, however, people of all communities come together to eat, drink and make merry!
Carnaval de Goa is just around the corner so get your masks ready for a festival full of vibrant floats, delicious food, and non-stop dancing! Introducing you to our King Momo for 2023, Mr. Russel D’Souza from Margão, Goa. He’s regal, he’s rotund and he’s ready to reign! Hearing his decree will make you eat, drink and make merry! See him lead this year’s Carnaval Parade on 18th February at Panaji, Goa.
Pick your favorite venue and don’t forget to mark your calendars. A Carnaval extravaganza awaits you.
