South Goa’s beaches are pristine havens of calm. One of the busy shores on this stretch, Colva beach is located close to Margao and getting there by bus or public transport is easy. Drive to Margao city, the commercial centre of south Goa, with its bustling markets. It’s just 6 kms from the beach. Shopping in Colva like any other beach offers plenty of good bargains. The tiny stalls sell everything from Rajasthani bags and jewellery to leather items and beach wear. You can browse and haggle to your heart’s content. Or if you’re in the city then you can hop into some of the stores to see what you can find.
South Goa is bestowed with a rich historical legacy. Museums like Ancestral Goa in Loutolim is one of the major tourist attractions for history buffs. It’s filled with artefacts of Goa’s past and takes you on a walk down memory lane. The museum is particularly known for the largest sculpture of Sant Mirabai located within the premises.
As the sun sets, the restaurants along the coast come abuzz to the live music scenes. Most of these places are walking distance from the Colva Residency and offer something unique and special for all tastes.

A visit to Goa’s most sought-after beaches extreme South in Palolem and Agonda, is also recommended provided one has their own transport or you’ll have to take the bus from the main city terminus at KTC, Margao.
