Goa, 14th July 2024 – The Goa Tourism Pavillion led by delegates from the Department of Tourism: Mr. Deepak Narvekar, Deputy General Manager, Marketing GTDC and Mr. Sudatt Kambli, Information Assistant, Department of Tourism, witnessed a successful conclusion for their participation at the Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) Kolkata 2024, held from 12th to 14th July at the Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan. The event provided a dynamic platform for the state to present Goa’s unique and diverse tourism offerings to the travelers from West Bengal and surrounding states. The Goa Tourism Pavilion was honored with the Best Decoration Award in the Large Pavilion category at TTF Kolkata 2024. This recognition is a testament to the state’s dedication at creating an engaging, visually captivating experience and showcasing the unique facets of Goa in the Pavillion for all visitors.
Reflecting on the success of the participation, Mr. Rohan A Khaunte, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, stated, “TTF Kolkata 2024 provided a remarkable opportunity not just to showcase Goa’s tourism potential but also to engage with trade members from West Bengal and rest of the country. The exchange of insights and ideas on sustainable tourism has been invaluable. These interactions have inspired us to innovate and collaborate more closely with industry experts to further enhance Goa’s appeal as a premier travel destination.”

Mr. Deepak Narvekar, Deputy General Manager, Marketing, GTDC mentioned “The experience at TTF Kolkata was very encouraging and promising as Goa tourism could promote the hotels, new tourism services and other facets of Goa to the tour operators and travel planners from Kolkata. Many travel operators were keen to become the authorized travel agent of Goa Tourism Development Corporation to en route tourists to Goa and maximize tourist footfall.”
A significant focus was placed on sustainable initiatives under the Regenerative Tourism approach, including hinterland exploration, heritage restoration, and spiritual tourism, as well as, MICE & Wedding Tourism. Visitors were also given the opportunity to learn about our efforts to preserve Goa’s natural beauty and cultural heritage, including information on the Ekadasha Teertha circuit, which features 11 sacred temples, picturesque beaches, rich cultural heritage, adventure sports, and vibrant festivals, promising an unforgettable experience for every traveler. The VR setup at the pavilion was a thrilling attraction for visitors, bringing Goa’s landscapes to life. This installation enhanced the excitement, offering a unique opportunity for guests to experience Goa in an immersive way.
The delegates met with various industry leaders, trade visitors, and fellow attendees from different states, fostering valuable connections and exchanging insights on promoting sustainable tourism. The event facilitated meaningful discussions on enhancing Goa tourism’s potential and emphasized the state’s commitment to sustainable and regenerative tourism practices. Hoteliers and Tour Operators from Goa participated at the Pavilion, got the best opportunity to showcase and promote their hotels and tourism related services at TTF Kolkata.
