Margao - Ana Fonte Garden

A recent addition to the city, Ana Fonte garden with its oriental style food bridges and fountains takes your mind away from the busy streets. If you’re visiting Holy Spirit Church and Monte Hill this garden is on the way from the main city market. Take a quick break to enjoy some quiet time in it’s refreshing, green environs. Kids will enjoy this garden. Ideally it should be visited in the evening when the musical fountain is set up, but it can be enjoyed any time of the day.

Margao Municipal Park and Aga Khan Children’s Park

Margao boasts of enviable garden spaces in the heart of the city. The two green canopies add a refreshing touch and it’s just a stone’s throw away from Margao Residency.Nature lovers can enjoy an invigorating walk through the garden decked with a variety of plants and trees. Beautiful blooms smile at you as you pass.

Next door is the Aga Khan Garden that kids can spend some time in, playing around on the swings and slides. The garden used to have turtles and rabbits in the old days. But not any more.

Panaji - Bhagwan Mahavir Children’s Park

Modelled along a European city with its squares, promenades and parks, Panaji city is a compact green beauty. Large tracts of tree cover add to the city’s breathing space. The Bhagwan Mahavir Children’s Park is a sprawling property maintained by the Goa Forest Department. Bordering the banks of the River Mandovi, this serene space has many attractions for kids or if you want to enjoy a quick or slow jog under its soothing canopy. You can sit at the beach or on the rocks and enjoy a serene evening gazing at the imposing Reis Magos fort towering above on the other side of the river.

Panaji - Luis Gomes Garden

Across the Bhagwan Mahavir Children’s Park is a smaller garden dedicated to one of Goa’s most illustrious minds, Francisco Luis Gomes, whose statue gazes down at you at the garden, championed equality, freedom and justice. A politician, socialist and writer, his contributions earned him a knighthood by the Portuguese Government.

Panaji - Garcia de Orta

Named after a famous 16th century Portuguese Jewish physician, Garcia de Orta, the garden sits y close to the Immaculate Conception Church. After a stroll around the church, you can sit and relax on the benches.

Other gardens in the city include the mermaid garden opposite the Panaji Residency, Jogger’s Park ,a modern addition with a jogging track at Altinho and a children’s park in Caranzalem.
