Science Centres to visit

Kids Day Out

Astro Kids

As kids you always have marvelled at the expanse of the universe above you. The twinkling stars lightening up the night sky, or the moon shining its bright face or even pointing out to the various constellations. If you’re a science geek or you just want to take the kids on a little educative trip, visit Goa’s first Public Astronomical Observatory (PAO) in Panaji.

Set up in 1990 atop Junta House, in the heart of Panaji by Mr. Percival Noronha, it creates awareness about the science of astronomy and inculcates a spirit of enquiry. Whether it is the eclipse, comet or transit of planets, take the opportunity to witness these spectacles.Don’t miss taking a peek at the universe through the telescope. Run by Association of Friends of Astronomy, it’s opened for general public from 14 November to 31 May.

 Timing: 19-21 hours.
