Paving the way for Goa’s Tourism Development: Signs Supplemental Lease Deed with IHCL Taj Hotels

The Department of Tourism, Goa signed the Taj Aguada Plateau Supplemental Lease Deed, marking a significant milestone in the state’s tourism development. The ceremony, held on 13th August at Mantralaya, Porvorim, was attended by key dignitaries, including Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and Tourism Minister Shri. Rohan A. Khaunte. The lease was signed by Shri. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Director of Tourism, and senior executives from The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL). This agreement paves the way for the development of a world-class Wellness, Ayurveda, and Yoga-centric retreat on the Aguada Plateau, designed to attract high-end tourists and elevate Goa’s standing as a premier global destination.
 
This landmark agreement highlights the commitment of the Goa government and the Taj Group to enhancing the state’s tourism infrastructure while preserving its cultural heritage. The project aims to create sustainable economic growth through local employment opportunities and innovative tourism offerings. The Taj Aguada Plateau, known for its stunning views and historical significance, will now feature state-of-the-art facilities that align with Goa’s vision of regenerative tourism. The collaboration is set to boost Goa’s appeal as a luxury destination and reinforce its reputation as a leader in sustainable tourism.
