The Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) and the Goa Forest Development Corporation (GFDC) have introduced a new online booking platform to enhance the trekking experience at Dudhsagar Falls. This initiative aims to streamline and regularize trekking activities, ensuring a safer and more organized experience for visitors. The platform allows tourists to book trekking slots online, with a daily limit set at 500 trekkers. A nature guide will be assigned to every group of 10 tourists, with the allocation based on a first-come-first-serve basis at the Collem office. These guides have been specially trained at the Forest Training School in Valpoi.
 
Additionally, the authorities have implemented strict guidelines to protect both the environment and visitors. The booking fee is set at ₹527 plus GST, and trekkers are required to carry valid photo identification. The consumption of alcohol is prohibited during the trek, and carrying plastics into the premises is banned to maintain cleanliness. Visitors are also advised not to carry valuables to prevent loss or theft. This new system reflects the state’s commitment to promoting sustainable and responsible tourism in its natural heritage sites.
