“Goa Beyond Beaches” Quiz Competition Concludes with Grand Prize Distribution at Historic Reis Magos Fort
45 Teams from Colleges Across Goa Celebrate State’s Heritage
Reis Magos: The “Goa Beyond Beaches” Quiz Competition, organized by Goa Tourism Development Corporation, concluded successfully at the historic Reis Magos Fort with a grand prize distribution ceremony.
The prize distribution was held in the presence of:

Winners Announced:
1st Place: G.R. Kare College of Law, Margao
2nd Place: Smt. Parvatibai Chowgule College, Margao
3rd Place: Goa Engineering College, Farmagudi
4th Place: Goa University History Department,Taleigao
5th Place: College of Multidisciplinary Studies, Margao
The winning teams were felicitated with cash prizes and trophies, while mementos were presented to all participating colleges as a token of appreciation.
Earlier in the morning, the competition was inaugurated by Shri Gavin Dias, General Manager, GTDC, Shri Deepak Narvekar, Deputy General Manager, GTDC, and Shri Naguesh Sardesai, Quiz Master.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of almost 45 teams from various colleges across all talukas of Goa, with students demonstrating commendable knowledge about Goa’s culture, heritage, history, and traditions beyond its 105 km coastline.
Chairman’s Address
Addressing the gathering at the iconic Reis Magos Fort, Shri Kedar J. Naik, Chairman, GTDC said:
“Goa is much more than beaches. It is our forts like Reis Magos, our churches, temples, festivals, music and our people. I am proud to see our youth taking such keen interest in learning about the Goa beyond beaches. You are the true ambassadors who will take this story to the world. GTDC will soon organize similar quiz competitions for the benefit of Goan students across the state.”
MD’s Address
Shri Kuldeep Arolkar, Managing Director, GTDC said:
“I congratulate all the students for showcasing their talent and enthusiasm with such brilliance today. You have made Goa proud. I wish you continued success in all your future endeavors and encourage you to keep learning and taking pride in our heritage.”
GM’s Address
Shri Gavin Dias, General Manager, GTDC added:
“The overwhelming response from 45 teams shows that our students are curious and proud of their heritage. Hosting this at Reis Magos Fort makes it even more special as we celebrate our history in a historic setting.”
DGM’s Address
Shri Deepak Narvekar, Deputy General Manager, GTDC said:
“Goa Beyond Beaches is not just a quiz, it is a movement. I urge all students to explore the hidden gems of Goa and promote the hinterlands of Goa. When our youth become storytellers of Goa, the world will see the true spirit of our state.”
The program was compered by Ms. Larisa Fernandes, and the Vote of Thanks was proposed by Shri Deepak Narvekar.
