Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) recently held the Bhoomi Pooja and laid the foundation stone for Taj Anjuna Goa, a 5-star resort in Anjuna, Bardez. The project, developed in collaboration with Myrayash SPV of Bharat Realty Venture and supported by Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), marks a significant step in promoting Goa as a premier wedding destination. The resort will feature 161 rooms and a banquet hall, enhancing the local tourism infrastructure while creating substantial economic and employment opportunities.
 
Dignitaries including Hon’ble MLA, Sanvordem Constituency & Chairman, GTDC, Dr. Ganesh Gaonkar, Hon’ble MLA, Siolim Constituency and Vice Chairman, ESG, Smt. Delilah Lobo, Director, Department of Tourism & Managing Director, GTDC Shri. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, along with MD, Myrayash hotels SPV of Bharat Realty Venture, Shri. Dhaval Bharot and Senior Vice President (Operations) IHCL, Goa Shri. Ranjit Phillipose, emphasized the project’s alignment with Goa’s vision of “Goa Beyond Beaches” and regenerative tourism. Despite delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and permission issues, the project is now set to be completed by March 2027. The initiative is expected to boost local businesses, create over 400 jobs, and significantly contribute to North Goa’s tourism revenue, all while preserving the region’s cultural heritage.
