Mormugao Gears Up for ‘Mormugao Summer Fest 2026’, A Grand Celebration of Culture, Music & Community organised by GTDC

Mormugao, April 20, 2026: Mormugao is set to come alive with colour, rhythm and cultural pride as it hosts the Mormugao Summer Fest 2026 on April 25 and 26. Organised by Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC), the event commences from 5pm on both days, and is a two-day celebration of Goa’s cultural heritage alongside contemporary entertainment, the festival will bring together locals and tourists for a shared community experience.

The festival will open on April 25 with a traditional Dindi procession, setting the tone for an evening rooted in spirituality and folk traditions. Audiences can look forward to a lineup including Shigmo performances by Mandaleshwar Managuru Group, an all-women Gondhal folk dance, Ganesh Vandana performance by Dancehoard, and dance acts by Winners of India’s Got talent, the Prince Dance Troupe from Odisha. Prince Dance Troup will perform three acts – Indian Flag Act, Shiv Tandav Act, and the Krishna Act and Dashavatar Act.

The evening will also feature the inauguration ceremony, where important dignitaries will be present, followed by the felicitation of eminent personalities from Mormugao constituency. The inaugural evening will conclude with a drone show and a live performance by renowned playback singer Hema Sardesai who will wriggle the audience with her Bollywood hits and Konkani melodies with The Rockers Band.

Day two, April 26, continues the cultural programming with performances such as Dhol Tasha pathaks by the Jagdamb group, a vibrant dance by Siddhant Gadekar bringing Vitthal Rakhumai to life, standup comedy performance by Goan Vhani, and the “Geet & Kantar” musical presentation by Sidhart Yaji and band. The evening will also feature a fashion show themed ‘Sun, Sand & Style’ by noted fashion designer Verma D’mello, an electrifying LED light show by flow artist Vajra Aigal. The event will conclude with a live performance by the voice of Abhitabh Bachan, Sudesh Bhosle with Band Lehre. Bhosle is known for hits such as “Jumma Chumma De De”, “O Lal Dupatte Wali”, and many more evergreen hits including mimicry acts.

Highlighting the role of tourism in such initiatives, Chairman of GTDC Kedar J.
