Panaji, November 27: Goa bagged yet another honor when it was voted ‘Favourite Leisure Destination – India’ at the Readers’ Travel Awards organized by Condé Nast Traveller India.

The awards were announced and given away at a glittering ceremony in New Delhi.

The award was received by Mr. Dattaram Sawant, General Manager, Finance, GTDC on behalf of Goa Tourism.

This is the fourth time that Goa has won an award at the Readers’ Travel Awards. With the introduction of the Hot Air Balloons, Sea Planes and Amphibious Vessels (Duck tours), Goa has added more attractions for tourists to enjoy during their trip here.

Meanwhile, Goa has also been rated as the “Most popular domestic destination this winter” according to the Winter Vacation Value Report by Trip Advisor. Goa has been ranked at the top while competing with 10 other leading destinations having colder climates and finding favour with the Indian Travelers, which includes Jaipur, New Delhi, Manali, Shimla and Agra. The Report also reveals rankings in other segments such as Most Affordable Weeks, Average Pricing and Savings during the winter.

Mr. Dilip Parulekar, Hon’ble Tourism Minister of Goa said “I am happy to see Goa receiving so many awards and titles. The fact that these are endorsed by travelers only goes to add to the credibility factor.”

Mr. Nilesh Cabral, Chairman, GTDC said, “Goa has a lot to offer this season. Along with festivities like Diwali, Christmas and New Year we have the new tourism activities such as Hot Air Ballooning, seaplanes, seagway tours and Duck tours many of whose full-fledge operations will begin in December. We are confident that this will add a lot more value to the entire Goan holiday experience.”
