Being strategically located in Panaji, the capital city of Goa, guests of the hotel have no shortage of things to do.
There’s a lot to do in Panjim itself. It is a walker’s city. A short stroll across the road and over the New Patto Bridge will bring you to the river cruise boats. From here you can take an unforgettable journey up and down the tranquil Mandovi River.
The Adil Shah Palace which housed the Secretariat of the Government of Goa is another short stroll to the left. Further in is the calm buzz of the church square dominated by the pristine Immaculate Conception Church. Half a minute's walk away is the Jama Masjid and two minutes away from the masjid is the Mahalaxmi Temple.
The property is 13 km from Old Goa, that site of many a Church and architectural monument, 35 km from the Goa International Airport, 30 km from Thivim Railway Station and 12 km from the Mapusa Bus Station.
Depending on your inclination, you can avail of the daily sightseeing tours if you prefer group activities, browse the sunny lanes of Panaji city at your own pace, or go for long leisurely walks along the boulevard all the way to Kala Academy and take in a play or a concert. The Panaji Market too is worth a visit, for its colour, noise and a close look at the unique fisher women who reign supreme over the seafood they sell – a food item that Goans prize more than gold and jewels.
If you prefer more modern forms of entertainment, the latest movies are shown at the INOX Multiplex. There are night clubs, pubs, bars and restaurants galore in Panaji City, and plenty of shopping to be had all over. When city life palls on you, you can hop on to a bus at the Kadamba Bus Terminus and go anywhere in Goa; just make certain you find out the timings of the return trip.
Buses run to and from:
- Most of Goa’s famous and exotic beaches – Anjuna, Baga, Calangute and Colva, a few kms away from the city.
- Dona Paula, a hotpot for water sports, just seven kms away from Panaji. Dona Paula is where two of the Goa’s rivers meet the Arabian Sea.
- Cabo Raj Bhavan, the official residence of the Governor of Goa, situated on the western tip of Dona Paula.
Panaji is hot in summer and pleasant in winter. Heavy rains lash the city during the monsoons months (June to September). So remember to step out with an umbrella!
