Goa Tourism organized ‘Freedom Ride’, an exclusive bike rally on August 15 on the occasion of Independence Day. Hon. Tourism Minister Mr. Dilip Parulekar flagged off the rally at Paryatan Bhavan, Panaji. The Rally was very enjoyable and bikers were given an experience of Goa while exploring its treasures packed with churches, rivers, beaches, temples, villages and much more. The bikers spent some time at various tourist spots on the way.
The rally saw a huge response from a number of locals and tourists. The experience was very exclusive as it was not a race but just an adventure filled ride. A lot of entertainment and delicious lunch was provided at Fort Tirakol Heritage Hotel. Every Rider was also provided with a T-shirt. The expedition started at 10.00 a.m. from Paryatan Bhavan, Patto Panjim and concluded at Shiroda, Goa Highway Junction. The route map was shared with the participants before the start of the rally.
Well known historian Mr. Sanjeev Sardessai gave insights into Goa's history, culture and traditions during the rally. He also organized a brief quiz on Goa’s heritage and liberation, which was another interesting aspect of this rally. Dr Prithvi Amonkar guided the bikers during the rally.
